Passport to Dry Creek Valley was introduced in 1990, by the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley, as a time every year when the winegrowing community could come together to celebrate the generations of farmers, vintners and families that are the roots of the Dry Creek Valley wine region. Over the 24 years since, the event has become a beloved tradition among wine lovers who enjoy a world-class tasting experience with a festive twist, all within the idyllic Dry Creek Valley.
Over one weekend, Passport guests are welcomed into 50+ wineries throughout Dry Creek Valley, each offering a unique pairing of premium wine, gourmet food and entertainment. Take a vineyard tour for a grape-to-glass look at Dry Creek Valley wine. Sample exclusive vintages, rarely available to taste. Meet winemakers and grapegrowers - the generations of people behind the wine and magical 'Dry Creek Valley spirit'. Savor exquisite food and wine pairings from acclaimed chefs. Join us as Carmen Sherbondy of Riedel Crystal of America demonstrates how different shaped glasses impact the flavors of wine. She'll use Riedel's Vinum XL Wine glassware. You'll taste our wines in the glasses and the glassware is yours to keep after the seminar ($138 value). Afterward we'll enjoy a light cheese reception. This is a very popular and informative event and seating is limited.

The Great Russian River Race

Great Russian River Race will attract some of the country's top canoeing, kayaking and SUP athletes, local adventurers, recreational paddlers and corporate teams to race in two separate events.
Advanced and expert paddlers will compete in a class II, 15-mile Bridge-to-Bridge Race from the Alexander Valley Bridge.
Recreational paddlers and canoe teams will do battle over the 5-mile Rio Lindo Race, starting north of Healdsburg. Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the winners at the Race Cup Ceremony.
The respective races will finish at the Healdsburg Memorial Bridge, welcomed by the River Race Party. Come enjoy great food, beverages and live music, all on the banks of the River. The River Race Party is free and will run from noon-5 p.m.

The Russian River Valley Winegrowers is pleased to introduce the Pinot Classic. Celebrating the Russian River Valley AVA, this exciting new event includes seminars, Passport to Pinot, and the highly anticipated Paulée dinner. You'll explore the wines reigning from this unique wine region in Sonoma County learn about the tradition and timely relevance of this bright and beautiful varietal.
More than 100 wineries and vintners comprise the Russian River Valley AVA. Their advancements and contributions have largely shaped the palate for Pinot Noir. The Pinot Classic will be a celebration of wine, winemakers, growers and the luminaries who make Russian River Pinot what it is today.

Battle of the Grill

The 2nd Annual Battle of the Grill competition will kick off on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 11am to 4pm. Five participating wineries: Mill Creek Vineyards and Winery, VML Winery, HKG Estate Wines - Hop Kiln Vineyards, Thomas George Estates and Geyser Peak Winery. Each winery will be teaming up with a local chef or caterer to create a one-of-a-kind food and wine pairing. The only criterion is that a grill must be used in creating the food pairing. Event goers will travel from winery to winery as they "Wander the Westside" sampling each pairing to decide which one they perceive as the overall winner. ONLY 300 tickets will be available so don't wait! NO tickets will be sold at the door.
Each attendee will be assigned a starting winery location where they will check-in to receive their wine glasses and additional information that will be pertinent for the day of the event. Information containing your starting location will be emailed to each attendee. Attendees will be able to text to vote and live results will be posted at the end of the day. The winning winery and chef will each get to host the "Battle of the Grill Trophy" in their place of business until the next battle commences. One lucky voter will win a swag bag with logo gear and more from the WRWA participating wineries. At the end of the day all attendees will get access to a digital recipe book showcasing the pairings created at each winery. We hope that you will join us for this unique experience!

Moderately challenging ride through the Alexander, Dry Creek & Russian River Valleys. Distance options include 23, 37 or 60 miles; gradually increasing in difficulty. The 23 mile route is rather flat, while the 37 & 60 mile routes have more rolling hills and moderate climbs.
